Chapter 07: The Spirits and Transformations Our journey lead us out of the Chargestone Cavern, though not before we battled it out with the King of Team Plasma, N, who still desires to free all Pokemon from the so called oppression of humans. His ideals seem genuine but his mind is corrupted by hate. I fear that the man known as Ghetsis may have a part in this. Ever since his words in the first town (whose name I don't even bother to remember) I have had doubts of his true allegiance. Regardless, we defeated N and continued on though i doubt it will be our final battle. The Flying Gym is up next, confidence abound for our victory there but first we must attend to the workings of the celestial tower. It will be great way to level up our team and inside the tower, we collected a new friend, a Litwik we dubbed, with much amusement, Cinderella. It is another Fire Type though, will Cinderella prove superior to the previous ones. We battle through the trainers and at long last, an old friend of ours begins his evolution. Kavias, the Trubbish becomes a splendid and beautiful Garbador! Well as splendid as a heaping pile of trash can be. We ring the bell, soothing the spirits of the Pokemon and then head down. It's about times like these where we wish we still had our Tranquil. Flying would be great instead of having to walk down all those stairs. We did catch a Duclett earlier but...it died so fast I can barely remember what happened. Flying may not be necessary but it is very desirable. I hope Skyla is ready, because our team is ready to beat some winged butt. On another note, I fear that Panzaea may be falling behind. |

Chapter 08: The Road to Victory! We've come a long way on our journey in such a short time. From the battle in the Flying Gym, to the coldness of the Ice Gym to the gaining the last badge in the Dragon Gym. We stand now with all 8 badges, no doubt thanks to Grand Osh being overpowered as hell....as well as overleveled. Now we face the true testament of strength and courage. We turn our attention to the great mountain, Victory Road and the Pokemon League. There we shall face off against the mightiest of trainers and prove ourselves worthy as the greatest trainer in all of Unova. But it is more than that! We must face the King of Team Plasma, N, or else all Pokemon will be stripped away from human hands! Yet, despite our strengths and the accomplishments our team has made, can we even challenge the Legendary Dragon, Zekrom? With such a monster under his command, N may well be invincible! We begin our trip up the mountain and silently hope for victory on a road so named. |

Our heroes presence in the illustrious City of Light was quickly picked up on and we were extended an invitation to the laboratory of Professor Sycamore, giver of starters and all-around Pokemon know-it-all. After a brief exchange the Professor, armed with the Kanto starter trio, challenged us to a battle. The battle was a largely uneventful one, with Josie, Eve, and Roxie taking down Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander respectively. Our reward for prevailing was a choice between the vanquished foes (Sycamore, with all his expertise, has seemingly found a way to bring back the dead) and after consulting the magical trainer card for a number, we grabbed Viktor the Charmander and rounded out our team of six. Our journey continued to unfold, with captures and evolutions abound (from here out I'll profile a newly caught Pokemon only if they make it into the team), as we traversed through Kalos in search of the next gym. Maati and Viktor were elevated to their second stages, bolstering a team that was beginning to look like a formidable collection. After completing a few innocuous errands, we stumbled across a bump in the road: the mighty Snorlax. After paralysing the beast, the whole team took turns chipping away at it's health and lowering it's stats in preparation for a capture. Armed with a hefty amount of Balls of the Great & Poke variety, we set to what should have been an arduous process. Luckily, it only took two Pokeballs and the monster was ours. To the chagrin of some of the team, Gruff the Snorlax was brought into the main roster, with Josie the Fletchling being relegated to the bench. More monotony followed as we moved through the region, kicking asses and taking names. However, we were about to meet a rude awakening. In a run in with a group going by the name of Team Flare we were dealt the first blow of our quest. In a double battle where we were aided by our neighbour, Calem, Bosley the Vivillon met a grizzly end. Sent to sleep, rather than play it safe, I took a risk and assumed he would either wake from his slumber, or Calem would down one of the opponents seeing as he had a 4x advantage over one of them. Alas, Bosley was the target of two Feint Attacks. The first death of the Nuzlocke that hurt all the more as it was an entirely preventable one. Josie the Fletchling was welcomed back into a team, but the reunion couldn't mask the sombreness that hung over our heads. It didn't take long before tragedy struck again and this time the responsibility lay solely at my own feet. Viktor was matched up against a Shellder known to possess the ability Skill Link. The battle started with a Confuse Ray aimed at Viktor. After a 5-hit Icicle Spear and a confusion hit, I decided against playing it safe. Rather than healing, I pushed forward for the kill knowing full well that a confusion hit and a 5-hit Icicle Spear would bring with it death. Viktor hurt itself in confusion and Shellder opted for an Icicle Spear. Two deaths and they were both brought about by my own arrogance. After laying Viktor to rest, we brought in new addition Connovar the Electrike to the team. With very little type advantage for the next gym, and with a few members of the team rendered null and void by weaknesses, there could be no more arrogance and no more mistakes. We stocked up on super potions and rocked up to the Cyllage City gym....... Maati, Lv.21 |

Chapter 09: The Elite Four It is time, we make our way through victory road and arrive at the gates of the Elite Four. Our team I feel is ready and after stocking up on the much needed items, I check throughout the team. Grand Osh, Tremor, Pazaea, Pumperbot, Kavias and Lea. The team is ready, not only eager to defeat the Elite Four but eager to stop the madness of the King of Team Plasma. N is supposed to be waiting for us and yet a chill runs through all of us. How can we defeat the legendary Zekrom without the Legendary Reshiram? There's an uncertainty in the air. As powerful as Grand Osh is, he has no chance against the legendary Electrical Dragon. Perhaps Tremor or Pumperbot will prove better but I fear their defenses may not match up to the might of a legendary Dragon Pokemon. Nevertheless, that time will have to come later...if it comes. The Elite Four says they are neutral, but I wonder if they are afraid to face N and Zekrom themselves? We enter the gates and begin the battle. We start out first with the Ghost Leader. It will be a good way to get Tremor leveled up to face another leader later on. The match begins, what terrible luck that the first of the Pokemon she sent out would be Confagrigus. While a decent "Crunch" took out over 3/4ths of its health, it still survived, laying on its "Mummy" ability. The idea was to keep up Tremor's Moxie and clean through this guy. It didn't help that it managed to burn Tremor, making things harder. After much time, we took care of the coffin creature. Next she threw out her Jellicent. There was too much risk in keeping Tremor in and we opted out for Grand Osh. Any water moves it would use would be ineffective. It would allow us to get rid of the burns and heal Tremor up. Unfortunately what we did not expect was for the ghostly being to use Energy Ball a grass move. Grand Osh was blasted, reeling from the pain. Things had turned south. If possible would could whittled Jellicent down with a few Surfs but things changed. What could we do now? We needed something to take care of it once and for all. We sent Lea out. The problem with her was that, frankly, Lea was weak. Compared to the others, she was only Level 38, hardly a match for the high 40s and low 50s of the Elite Four. It pained us a bit but a sacrifice had to be made. We sent her out and used the chance to fully heal Tremor. The monstrous Jellyfish grabbed our grassy deer and brought it into the void. We knew it would happen, there wasn't much of a reason we could keep Lea alive. The Jellicent devoured the deer and left nothing in its wake. This was it, Tremeor came out, roaring in rage and it came up to the horrifying Jellicent. If Tremor lost, we were doomed. It lunged upon the Jellicent and snapped its mighty jaws across the beast and defeated it! Victory was practically ours now! As Tremor's Moxie grew, it chomped upon the rest of the foolish Pokemon who dared to face us. The Golurk went down with a single bite. The Chandelure, down with a single bite and after a rough start, our first Elite Four battle was finished. --- --- We head to our next challenge, the Dark user Grimsley. Grand Osh quickly deals with the Scrafty, its Aerial Ace doing quick work against the Fighting/Dark Type. We keep him up against the Krookodile. This wannabe Krook has nothing on Tremor. A bit of a shock when we found out that the Krookodile was faster and managed to land an Earthquake. Thankfully it didn't do much and one good surf shook it away. Things became different though when the Bisharp arrived. Proving itself a bit faster, it launched a viscous assault upon us with its Night Slash, carving into Grand Osh who could not defeat it in a single hit. We had to bring Tremor out and who luckily could take such a hit from an ineffective move. We dug into the earth, burying as the Bisharp attempted to strike with its X-Scissor. An admittedly powerful move too, one that would definitely have killed Tremor. Yet with a mighty strike, Tremor blew the Bisharp away. It was thus, rather comical when Grimsley's last Pokemon was a Liepard. Needless to say, it was swfitly done in by a good Dig by Tremor. --- --- 2 down, 2 to go. With Tremor ready for action, our next stop was the Psychic Leader Caitlin. Without mincing words, Tremor ate them all easily. --- --- The next stop is Marshal the Fighting Leader. Kavias, our Poisonous Garbador is sent out first. Not only is Kavias fast, especially for literal trash but at least getting off a Toxic will help things out. That was when things turned south again. How could we know that it would use the Ground Move Bulldoze? Kavias barely hung on and we switched into Grand Osh. We struck through with Surfs, washing things down including the Sawk. Unfortunately thanks to a few Bulldozes, Grand Osh's speed had dropped, making it slower than the Conkeldurr. We might have gotten one surf off but it wasn't enough to defeat it! It slammed its body into us with its great Hammer Arm and chocked well over half Grand Osh's health. Now was the time. We had a Pokemon that had been with us almost as long as Grand Osh but had never had much time to do anything. We sent Pazaea the Murshana out and decided to put it to sleep. It was impossible to tell if we would be strong enough to defeat it even if we had a type advantage. We imagined though that by getting it to sleep if something did happen to Pazaea, someone else could take the chance. It hit with incredible force, but our little Psychic Fetus managed to persevere! With a direct Psybeam, we blew the things brains right out of its skull. The only thing left was the Meinshao. This time sending in Kavias, we began to Toxic it, hoping to whittle it down until it was primed for action. The creature cried out as its body grew weaker and weaker. The Poison would take effect and soon it would die in agony. We didn't now that ts willpower was greater than expected. We should have healed but our arrogance caught us off guard. Just as the Pokemon was to fall to its doom from its Toxic, it released a final Jump Kick. Kavias, having already taken some hit was bombarded by the swift blow, the final act of the Pokemon drilling into Kavias until it ripped through, tearing a hole through our Poisonous bag before it finally succumbed to its wounds and perished. --- --- We had defeated the Elite Four but had lost both Lea and Kavias to the battles. Despite our victory, there wasn't much cheering because we all knew what was coming. Nevertheless, we climbed up the stairs and prepared ourselves to face the inevitable. Cyllage City gym proved to be of very little challenge and it was all down to the all-around beastliness of Gruff the Snorlax. He felled Amaura in one hit with Rock Smash and then stretched to two hits for Tyrunt. With two badges to our name, we continued through the region and on to the third gym leader. Her team of two Lucarios proved tough, but we escaped with the victory with a team effort (and a few potions). Unfortunately, it was an unsanctioned battle and therefore there was no badge for our troubles. After an arduous journey through Reflection Cave (with Connovar evolving into a Manectric), we arrived at our next destination: Shalour City. Full of confidence after beating the resident gym leader already, we were chomping at the bit for a second battle and the elusive third badge. However, there was one final obstacle to hurdle. We had been pitted against our neighbour and rival, Callum, in a fight for the only Mega Evolution bracelet available. His first Pokemon, Meowstic, was dealt with handily by Gruff, batting it aside like it was nothing. Absol was up next, but proved no match for the joint effort of Connovar & Eve. Finally, Braxien. I chose Gruff for the job. Braxien had the speed advantage and managed to get off a Fire Spin before Gruff enshrined it in a Rock Tomb. One more would do the trick. Braxien hit first with a Psybeam that sent Gruff into a state of confusion. He couldn't break through for an attack and took some damage from the confusion. Then, residual damage from the Fire Spin. Another death. I sent out Connovar the Manectric. He outsped Braxien and got off a Spark, but Braxien survived by the skin of it's teeth. One more Fire Spin that dealt a ridiculous amount of damage. Connovar survived, but the residual damage once again proved too much. Two deaths. Josie was sent out and finished things off with a Quick Attack. A victory, but one made hollow by two gut-wrenching losses. Left reeling by the loss of our two strongest Pokemon, we were forced to carry on under a cloud and try and pick up the pieces of our journey. We withdrew two new team members from the box: Delilah the genderfluid Mr. Mime and Kairi the Slowpoke. We also doubled back and placed two Pokemon in the Daycare Centre as an insurance policy that we hoped we wouldn't have to cash in. The two new additions, along with Eve, made quick work of the Shalour City gym with their overwhelming type advantage. This time, we made sure she handed over the badge. We were now three badges to the good, almost halfway to the eight that would grant us access to the Pokemon League. Team morale had taken a hit, but Nuzlocke is as Nuzlocke does. We had no choice but to push forward, on to Coumarine City and the fourth badge. Maati, Lv.30 |

Chapter 10: A True Hero? Grand Osh, Tremor, Pazaea and Pumperbot, that was the only ones we had left to face the challenges on our way. The King of Team Plasma, N had managed to defeat the Champion Alder. We aren't surprised though, he has that legendary Dragon, Zekrom at his command. We ha a feeling it hadn't been much of a fight. We steeled our resolve and stepped up but the King of Team PLasma declared the Pokemon League, ill fit for a final confrontation. Instead with a raise of his hands, a grand castle was erected, it's walls towering over the Pokemon League. We took a step back. N's Castle was truly awe inspiring. Our journey, for better or worse, was coming to an end. --- --- We began to climb the steps of the castle. At one point, the Sages tried to stop us but thankfully the Gym Leaders+Iris, were there to fend them off. Good, we can at least rest our bodies a bit and bury our fallen Pokemon. There's no point in picking out anyone else, they'd only weight us down. As we ascend the steps, we take in the shape and grandeur of N's Castle. The mighty King, served by the mighty legendary dragon. If such a force told people to release their Pokemon, they'd definitely do so. Even I nearly relented. Maybe it would be best to let Grand Osh, Tremor, Pazaea an Pumperbot go. I don't believe I've been a hindrance to them but...if I let them go, maybe they'd live at least. Grand Osh gives my hand a little nudge and presses me on. We rise up further and come across a strange little room. N's room, surprisingly childish. Further up where we meet Ghetsis. Anger fills us. Even now we cannot trust this man who mockingly lets us pass to face the King of Team Plasma. --- --- The time has come, we stand face to face with N. He seems disappointed and almost, sad that Reshiram isn't by our side. Unfortunately as Zekrom blasts through the wall, N is going to be merciless. We get ready for the battle, Grand Osh, despite his weakness to Zekrom, prepares himself. But then, from our pocket the Light Stone suddenly begins to glow. The air circles around it and from it, like the birth of something amazing, the mighty dragon Reshiram comes forth! The beast roars at Zekrom, flaring its wings. "Impossible..." I hear Ghetsis say out of the corner of the room. I'm not sure, but I thin there was a small smile on N's face. Reshiram faces us, and in our hands is a tiny little Master Ball. This isn't about legendary Pokemon or rules anymore. As far as its concerned, Reshiram is here because finally it sees us as worthy. We gently toss the Master Ball at it. Once this is over, whether it is us or N, it will be released. However for now, as the legendary Dragon erupts back out of the ball an stands by our side, the battle between the Hero of Truth and the Hero of Ideals begins! --- --- The two dragons strike at one another with tremendous ferocity as N and I stand back, our clothes and hair fluttering through the chaotic wind. Reshiram let's forth a mighty burst of energy from its breath taking a huge chunk of health from Zekrom who roars painfully. Unfortunately its not enough to quell the dark dragon. It bursts forth lightning tearing the battlegrounds up as ripping through Reshiram. The white dragon cries out feebly but as as the bolts wither it down, its determination remains strong. It takes a huge breath and blasts a huge burst of flaming energy at the black dragon. Stone is blistered and I cover my face from the intense heat. This is a battle between two legendary Dragons and from the smoke...the victor emerged. Reshiram gave a mighty cry though his body, with its cuts and bruises had taken quite a fight. I almost forgot that this was only the first Pokemon in line. Grand Osh was up next. It went up against the Carrocosta and slammed it repeatedly with waves of water. How unfortunate that not only did the turtle have a rock typing but Grand Osh's Special Attack was absolutely incredible. I think there was something else inside Grand Osh too. A Level of determination to achieve victory. It was so powerful that even the Vanilluxe was washed away. I could see N stepping back. I could see the fear in his eyes and the thought that must have been... "Was I wrong?" Next was the KlinkKlang. Glaring at it, Tremeor stepped up to the game and buried under the earth. The metal contraption attempted to fire blasts upon the earth but could not hope to reach the burying Krookodile. Tremor broke from the earth and shattered the piece of metal, proving its domination over the great metal contraption. We returned back to Grand Osh to fight the Zoroak. As much as it tried to take Grand Osh down, it couldn't take the waves of pressure, falling down into the abyss. We could win. We could actually defeat N! N, his face glowering, tossed his last Pokemon, the bird Archeops at us. Grand Osh gives us a knowing look and steps up to the plate. That was when the finale began in earnest. The bird with its amazing speed, attacked Grand Osh relentlessly, tearing off far more chunks of its health than we had any care for. Grand Osh tried to strike down and while it managed to take a bit of health down, it wasn't enough to fully get the job done. The bird, screeching its own victory tune struck again, bringing Grand Osh down further into the depths. Tremor jumped up, and took a mighty chomp out of the bird though not before get bombarded by the ancient bird's furious attacks. Luckily, it gave us enough time to heal Grand Osh and the the fight appeared to have taken a lot out of Archeops. It grew weaker and its attacks did less damage. It's almost pitiful that such power has such a limitation. Grand Osh at long last put the bird out of its misery. It was rough. And as N fell to his knees, we realized then and there...that we were the winners! Just as we thought it was all over, Ghetsis stepped in. --- --- "You worthless freak without a heart!" Ghetis screamed at N, his own "son" and I felt anger in me. Although we were enemies, it was clear that N was not evil, just misguided by this terrible man in front of us. He was only corrupted by Ghetsis. N was a good person, a bit quirky, but good nonetheless. At long last we realize who the true villain of this mess is and we finally step up to take on the true, final challenge. --- --- How will the battle end? Will we overcome Ghetsis or fall to his evil might? Stay tuned on the final Black Nuzlocke Post! |

As we arrived in Coumarine City, ready to unleash Josie and Roxie on the grass gym, a call came through on the Holocaster. Callum, who only recently took Gruff and Connovar from this plane, challenged us to a rematch. Him blocking the path to the gym and us with a sense of obligation to avenge the death of our ex-teammates forced our hand into a battle I was wary of. That wariness would prove to be warranted. Maati faces down Meowstic, but the opponent proves too much and I switch in Josie. Josie takes a Psybeam that knocks down more than half of her health, but confident in the speed advantage of my fastest Pokemon, I forego healing and attempt the killing blow. I was wrong. Meowstic hits first, hits hard, and Josie is dead. In the shock of a third loss in two battles, I forgot who switched in to land the killing blow. Absol and Braxien are handled by Eve and Kairi respectively, but the victory is a hollow one. We were down yet another strong Pokemon, and one who would have been pivotal in the upcoming gym. It would not be the last loss. I move onto the gym, place a Lucky Egg on Roxie to reach evolution level quicker and blitz through the lackeys. Well, all but one. Knocking on the door of level 35, Roxie comes up against an Exeggutor as the final hurdle before evolution and the gym battle. Fire Fang knocks Exeggutor down to red. Psyshock. Critical hit. Dead. Josie and Roxie had been strong friends, a bond built by the battle that granted us our first badge. Now they were gone, just before they were ready to do so again. The losses left us reeling, but we had no choice but to move on. We added Alexander the Lucario and Enrique the Sandile to the team with eyes on the upcoming Ground and Fairy gyms. It was not to be. Enrique, while grinding to get on the level of the rest of the team, was hit with a Fury Attack that strung out a full five hits. With fear of losing more before the gym battle, we threw caution to the wind and headed to the gym before adding a sixth member to the team. Maati and his newly learned Aerial Ace handled the first Pokemon. Alexander the Lucario and his Poison Jab was switched in to face Gogoat. Who knew Bulldoze. Ground beats Steel, Gogoat beats Alexander. The battle was won, as was the badge, but we were handed yet another loss. The two empty spots were filled by Ruby the Trapinch and Tim the Oddish. Until Tim died while being brought to the level of the rest of the team. The deaths were seemingly neverending. We withdrew Ivan the Tyrunt from the box. With a fear of yet more death shadowing our every step, we were tasked with taking down Team Flare and returning electricity to Lumiose City. On the way, a wild encounter with a Dugtrio almost added more misery to our journey. We were finally handed a piece of luck: the Dugtrio didn't have Arena Trap and we were able to escape without another death. And, much to our surprise, we made it through the Team Flare escapade unscathed and moved onto Lumiose City as heroes. The fifth gym proved to be little trouble (and handed us two evolutions) as Ruby, Ivan, & Maati, all three armed with Dig, ran rampant. Five badges and things were suddenly looking up again. We even stumbled across a Shiny Stone and used it on Floette. We might make something of this Nuzlocke yet. Ivan, Lv. 36 |

Chapter 11: The Grand Finale The true mastermind of Team Plasma comes forth and with only Four Pokemon+Reshiram at our side, we come face to face with our final and greatest challenge. The battle between the Hero of Truth and the False Prophet Ghetsis, the clouds flow overhead and the air gets chillier. If we lose here, we doom the entire world. The fate of Unova, no, the world, rests on our shoulders. Reshiram takes the lead, with the legendary Dragon at our disposal, victory is ours...right? We underestimated the power and ferocity of Ghetsis. It was as if his team was perfectly crafted to kill legendary dragons and even N's own team. The legendary dragon did battle with his Confagirgus, taking on poisonous blows here and there. Through great effort, Reshiram managed to finish off the vile coffin Pokemon. However, it was too weak to survive the crippling blows of the Bouffalant. How could it be? Our legendary dragon, defeated!? Victory wasn't gone yet though and due to the creature's reckless behavior, it's health had dwindled down a bit. Expressing its urge to proof useful to the team, Pumperbot stepped forward. The great mechanical beast raised his arms and slammed them down upon the wild beast. It's defenses weren't bad but Pumperbot held on, slamming its great arms until it finally smashed it fully into the ground. Ghetsis' eyes twitched, I knew the battle was getting to him. Seismitoad was sent out next, a Pokemon that Pumperbot simply did not want to be around. Grand Osh may not be effective on the water but it would be effective on the ground. Perhaps a foolish mistake by the toad as it started the match with Rain Dance. Did it not realize that it was helping us too? Grand Osh washed the silly frog out of the battle. This was easy! Almost too easy. Ghetsis couldn't win. Our team, even with our lack of numbers was too much for Ghetsis to handle. While there was a few close calls, none of his Pokemon could match up up the dream team we had crafted. His fake leadership couldn't stand up to the bonds we had come to share with each other. Tremor struck down his Eleketross, Grand Osh finished off his Bisharp. And at last we came upon the last Pokemon, the three headed dragon of darkness Hydreigon. The final Pokemon, filled with hate and raged and soared into the skies as Grand Osh took chase. It's at times like these that I regret re-teaching him Aerial Ace over Blizzard because we soon realized that the battles before were just appetizers. Even with Grand Osh's might Special Attack stat, it couldn't finish off the monstrous dragon. What was worse, the thing's speed was at a level that it could easily kill Grand Osh before the Samurott had time to land the killing blow. It was faster than anyone and it's power was great enough that it could easily kill anything on our team in 1-2 shots. It was clear what we had to do? Grand Osh was our best bet to putting this beast down once and for all. We had to heal him first and so, Tremor was sent out. I wanted to my trust in the Krookoodile, allow Grand Osh just enough time to get healed. I remembered when we first got our little gangster Krok in the the desert. We healed Grand Osh and, as if sadistically drawing out the moment, a Focus Blast utterly tore Tremor apart, dashing our hopes forward. The team was terrified. Tremor was a Pokemon of elite skill and absolute power and it was crushed without any fight from the dragon. Pumperbot stepped up, awaiting to avenge its fallen comrade and with one quick surf, the dragon washed our robot into the ground. What happened? Why had it turned out like this? We weren't even sure if Grand Osh had enough energy in him to finish the job. We had one final plan. Panzaea, the Murshana swiftly moved in. The bad news is, the dragon would still be faster and we had nothing effective against it, curse the Dark typing! Luckily, while insanely powerful, it didn't have anything super effective against Panzaea. Maybe by putting it to sleep, we could inflict a little more damage. Panzawa was hit hard but through a slither of health managed to survive and we connected our Yawn. After its next move it would go to sleep. A few psychic attacks wouldn't do much but it would be better than nothing. The first thing we did of course we heal and that's when we came to the fully understanding of the terror of Hydreigon. Releasing a final assault, Panzaea was blown apart by the critical hit. We had lost our friends. The friends we had come to adore throughout our journey. The only one left was our original friend, Grand Osh. With Hydreigon asleep thanks to Panzaea's final sacrifice, Grand Osh, in a fit of rage struck the sleeping beast with fury I had never once seen him possess. That might have been too much because the Hydreigon actually managed to wake up. Why? Why was it awake now? Was all of our sacrifice, all the losses, going to be for nothing? It would be faster, that was certain. If it crit, than our journey would end here forever. The tension was rising but Grand Osh bravely stood his ground and readied his final attack. It needed the iron will to survive. It needed the power to finish off the dark dragon. Hydreigon released its Dragon Pulse. Grand Osh blasts forth a gushing wave of Surf. --- --- Grand Osh teetered a bit, the whites of its eyes showing. I had memories of the little Oshowatt that grew into the great leader of our team. With his body toppling to the side, I wonder if we both had memories of our times together. We remember the many friends we made and great battles we had to overcome. How ironic that the last Pokemon here was the first. Ghetsis smiled. He knew he had won... Grand Osh stood his ground! We stood there, flabbergasted as with great determination and perseverance, Grand Osh survived! Weakened but not gone. Slow but not out and as I am sure the memories filled it to the core, Grand Osh let forth what I can only imagine was its greatest Surf yet. Hydreigon screeched and tried to attack directly, flying directly into the giant tsunami. It had to be given grudging credit, even to the end it refused to die. The wave hit. the wave crit. And through the turmoil...our journey ended. --- --- We had won. Our final battle with Ghetsis came to a close and while the man was dragged away, we talked to N one last time. Grand Osh, breathing heavily, wounded severely, but very much alive, we took the time to properly mourn our fallen comrades. We had lost so much in this battle but we had also gained a lot. Our great journey in Unova, was finally at an end. POKEMON BLACK NUZLOKE COMPLETED!!! |

The Nuzlocke continues, despite a lengthy absence in updates: Fresh off restoring power to Lumiose City and grabbing our fifth badge, our indomitable heroes continued in their quest to best the Nuzlocke challenge. Before we could venture onward to Laverre City and our 6th badge, we were once again challenged to a battle by Calem. The battle itself was an unremarkable one (my notes are extreme shorthand, so I'm hazy on a lot of the recent goings on), but Calem continued his murderous streak, this time adding Ivan the Tyrunt to his collection of skulls (and just a few levels from evolution, too). The hole in the team was filled by Claude the Throh. After dispatching of Team Flare for the umpteenth time, we rolled on to the 6th gym. The trio of Delilah, Kairi, and Eve made quick work of the gym leader and her lackeys and, but for a critical hit near scare, we acquired the badge with little trouble. Details on the time between the 6th and 7th gym are sparse, but nothing good. Critical hits, red health, and, unfortunately, death plagued our every step. First Eve the Florges fell. Then Delilah the Mr. Mime. We raided the box and added Orb the Haunter and Azrael the Skorupi, who were quickly evolved into Gengar and Drapion respectively. Even Ruby joined in on the evolution party, evolving into Flygon. We were granted a little reprieve from the tragedy that has haunted our journey; first, Calem's streak of death was broken as we handled him with ease, and then the 7th gym badge was retrieved easily as Azrael Night Slashed her way through the building. Up next, it was the final showdown with the notorious Team Flare. We lost Orb the Gengar and, shortly after, her replacement Vixen the Sneasel. We were lucky not to suffer more casualties as we faced a Malamar whose Contrary ability combined with Superpower meant it had a 3x Attack and Defence boost. Kairi emerged victorious, but we counted our blessings. In Geosenge City, preparing to foil Team Flare for the final time, we added an impressive member to our team: Neo the Yveltal. New area rules applied and we added a sorely needed powerhouse to the team. The final battle with Lysandre was a vicious struggle. With Neo in tow, we made our way through his team with relative ease. Then came the Mega Gyarados. First we lost Azrael to an Earthquake, then Claude to a critical Aqua Tail. Things were looking bleak until Maati, the first Pokemon to offer his services in our quest, took down Mega Gyarados. Lysandre was done, Team Flare were vanquished. We had suffered losses upon losses to take us to this point, but now we were one badge away from the Pokemon League. Ruby, Lv. 50

"Then you've got the chance to do better next time." "Next time?" "Course. Doing better next time. That's what life is." | |

Oh my goodness, you might actually do it. You might actually be able to Nuzlocke Y! I'm taking a break from Nuzlocke though I do have some playthrough on Platinum at the ready I did earlier. I'm rooting for you Mitas. |
